Crumpsall Concert Band is looking for a Principal Conductor

We are a community wind band and welcome musicians of mixed abilities and ages. A large ensemble, averaging 30 people per rehearsal, we hold regular rehearsals on Wednesday evenings in Crumpsall, North Manchester, and perform locally throughout the year.

We're looking for someone who...

Has experience conducting and strong musical leadership skills, desirably with wind band experience

Can inspire, encourage, and bring out the best in our community players

Enjoys being part of a supportive social music group making music for the community.

To be available to commence the role from January 2026.

The selection process will consist of an interview and a short rehearsal with the band in November. 

Whilst this is a voluntary position, we are committed to reimbursing reasonable expenses incurred as a result of fulfilling this role.
